A statement that the Lands Department, while willing to show every consideration to tenants in arrears with their fixed charges, could not go to the length of granting leniency in cases where tenants are not playing their part was made by the Minister of Lands, Hon. He said that the department was doing everything it could to help those in trouble, but it could not tolerate the dictatorial attitude which certain tenants seemed inclined to adopt in attempting to state on what terms their payments of Crown rent would be made.
