MATE’S BRAVE RESCUE EFFORT

A young fisherman, Alexander Nelson (20), was washed overboard from his boat off Turihaua Beach yesterday, and though his companion, Reginald Hart, made a gallant effort at rescue Nelson was drowned. He was hampered by the fact that he was wearing two pairs of trousers and heavy gum boots.
