TIMBER STRIKERS WANT TO GET BACK INSTRUCTIONS TO OFFICIALS | Australian and N.Z. Cable* SYDNEY, October 2. Officials of the Disputes Committee told a mass meeting of timber workers who are out of employment as the result of the strike, that they would have to accept the 48-hour; week if they desired reinstatement.

The meeting instructed the committee to press for a settlement witlh the timber merchants on whatever terms they could make. It is estimated that over 1000 workers are idle as a result of the stoppage.
