ST. JOHN’S DAFFODIL SHOW

OFFICIAL OPENING THIS AFTERNOON ATTRACTIONS FOR ALL This afternoon at 2.30 the annual daffodil and spring flower show in aid of the funds of St. John’s Anglican Church will be officially opened by His Worship the Mayor (Mr W. M. Wallnutt) in the King’s Hall, and will remain open during the afternoon and evening and on Friday. As the interior of the building will be dressed to take on the appearance of an old-fashioned village, with the floral exhibits, largely daffodils, and stalls arranged in keeping, the effect should be pleasing to the eye. There will be a number of competitive classes in the flower section and other attractions will include a shooting gallery, several side shows and competitions appealing to both, adults and children. Of special interest to womenfolk who have a house cow will be the division for home-made butter. The entries will be judged by an expert, and prizes will be given.
