WELLINGTON BEAT WANGANUI 27 TO 19 A WIN FOR EAST COAST ‘ E/ Telegraph—Press Association WANGANUI, this day. In a very close ■ game Wellington beat Wanganui by 27 points to 19, It was M. Beiliss’ last game in representative football and he finished well, getting one try himself and helping in two others. The first spell ended in favour of Wanganui by 11 points to 5, but on resuming the visitors played up strongly and. quickly added 15 points. Then Wanganui came again and reached 19 but after that with a goal from a mark and another dropped by Rushbrook Wellington finished off with a lead of 8 points. GISBORNE, this day. East Coast, for whom G. Nepia was playing in good form, beat Taranaki by 3 points to nil. The game was not very exciting and rather slow.
