MR. MASSEY’S RETURN

CAUSE OF THE DE AY LETTER FROM MR. LLOYDGEORGE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The following is the text of a letter, dated June 9, from Mr Lloyd-Goorgc to Mr Massey, asking Mr Massey to remain in England for the sgning of pence—“l earnestly hope it wi'T not he necessary for you to return to New Zealand before wc have arrived at a final settlement with tho Germans. I know how difficult it is for you 1o remain away, and how strong is the claim of the New Zealand people that you should return as soon as possible, 1 ut 1 attach tho utmost importance to the final decision with regard to peace with the Germans being taken with tho Ink authority of the representatives of the whole empire There may ho. in fact probably will be, some very important decisions which will have to be taken before peace is finally signed and sealed, and in those I am most anxious to have your counsel and support.
