Compensation Awarded.
London, Soptembor 24. Loud Astidown's claim for compensation in connection with the Glensherry outrage is proceeding at the Dungarvan sessions. Tho defence implies that Lord Ashdown's servant, or servants, without Lord Ashdown's connivanco, committed tho outrago to sustain the statemcnts contained in Lord Aslidown s publication, "Grievances from Ireland. Mr. li'oyd, British inspector of ox'plosives, considered that the window and shutters woro open when the bomb exploded. Other witnesses strongly opposed this opinion. (Received September 24,10.11 p.m.) In connection with Lord Ashdown's claim against tho county of Water ford, Jildgo Fitzgerald found that the oxplosion was a maliciousoutrage, and that there was no foundation for the allegation against Lord Ashdown. His Honor awarded him £l4O damages. (Received September 25, 7.27 a.m.) Tho Daily News states that the terms of the judgment in Lord Ashdown's case mako a full and completo inquiry into the mystery of the explosion absolutely essential.
Some weeks after a speech of incitement against Lord Ashdown, the owner of tlie famous AVoodlnwn Estate, m Comity Galwav, an attempt was made during the night to blow up his shoot-ing-box at Gleniheiry. _ The diningroom beneath tho room m which he was sleeping was shattered, and the bedroom itself was so damaged as to have made his escape exceedingly fortunate.
