Tho Twelfth Anniversary

At a Petone railway function on Saturday, referring to the fact that to-dny was the twollth anniversary of his Premiership, Mr, Seddon reviewed the progress of the colony under his GOvommint and administration, and the various measures which had boon placed' on tho Statute Book. Still, ho said, there was a lot more to be dono, and romarned that others wore following our lead. In the mittor of universal penny postage he said he would like to see our papers going out of the colony free of postajjo, to show the civilised world a colony wo had. In concluding he said: "Oil tbe twelfth anniversary of my Premiership I hope that thott who thought it would be to the advantage of the country to put us into office, and have stood by us, ire satisfied that no Govornmont' or no man is perfeot. Mistakes may take place, but I think I can olaim for the Parliament of New Zealand on both sides—tho Opposition and Goyjrniaent—that you havo had men in your Parliament who havo faithlully served their country, and who , havo done their duty to the people of New Zealand,"
