Wlkinson, vio.o-president of. tho Fruit-Growers' Association, in a lecture upon tho potato* disease, said that after making a microscopical examination of the diseased potatoes he had no doubt that the fungus had been in Canterbury for the past ten orfitcen years, and that last year, boing a wet season, had brought the disease to light. He recommended that the seed poiutoe should he stored in lighted and ventilated sheds, and not pitted. Manures that were tos stimulating should not be used.
