Tho ordinary meeting of the Public Library Committee was held at tho library rooms last night, Present: Messrs T. Giltnour (chairman), A. T. Ksnviclt, W. J. Gray, D. Donaldson, C. J. Sannder?, and J, Henderson (secretary). The librarian's report, which Bhowed that there were 133 subscribers, was reooived and approved of. A meeting of the members of the Waihi chartered brunch ot the Liberal and Labour (Federation of New Zealand will be held on Friday evening next, at 8 o'clock. The charter granted in Juno last by the President, the Right Honourable B, J. Seddon, and the Exeeutivo of the Liberal and Labour Federation of New Zealand, is on view in the window of Mr. J, Woodham's business premises, in Main-sheet. The lettering and general get-up, worked on a card about 24 inches ,in depth and 15 inches in width, and surrounded by a frame, is neat and artistic. The top of the card, in neatly coloured letters, is inscribed with tbo tho title of the parent institution, and immediately below, in tho centre, is the figure of Britannia, bearing in the right hand a wreath, and in the left a shield, upon which is inscribed the following Acts of Parliament:—Old Age' Pension, Lands and Settlement, Shops and Offices, and Industrial, Conciliation and Arbitration. The charter is signed by tho President (R. J. Seddon),and the general secrotary'(W, B, Culver). *
