With reference) to tho recently gazetted regulations requiring that so-ollod patent medicines should havo thoir formula) sot out on tho label, Sir Joseph Ward, Ministor for Public Health, aiatos:— ■• I have decided, in viow of representations made of the alleged injury that wouU have boon done to repmabie medicaments now on tho luar'iot, to modify the rognl'ition in the following mannon—lnstead of rHjuiiiug the oontcntn to be set out on the packet, it will bo necessary only to deposit the fornuik with the Minister for Public Health.' With respect to the treattuont of tho formula) deposited with the Department, tho documents will bo seen only by the Minister for Public Health and the chief executive iillioor. They will bo kept off the official tilos and safeguarded in such a way that no ono outside tho above-mentioned will have access to them. Tlib regulations will uot couio into foico until June, 1905."
