WOOL SITUATION
IMPORTANT CONFERENCE ARRANGED.
(By Telegraph—Special to “Herald”). WELLINGTON, Nov. 22. The financing of the coming wool clip is a matter in which the Government has concerned itself owing to the unusual conditions, particularly as a large number of soldier settlers may have to be financially assisted if they are to avoid loss through being forced to sell during the prevailing conditions of uncertainty. It is fortunate that the current’s season’s clip is slow in coming to hand, about 90 per cent, being still on the sheep’s backs. Despite unfavourable indications in London arrangements have been made to ship several big lots of New Zealand wool to the Home market. An important conference is to be held in Wellington within the next few weeks to discuss the financial aspect of the wool situation. It will be attended by the Prime Minister, representatives of the Treasury, members of the Wool Producers’ Cftmmittee, and leading" bankers.
