ARRANGEMENTS FOR VISIT TO WANGANUI. A meeting of members of the Borough Council and representatives of local school teachers was held last night, the Mayor presiding, to make fijial arrangements for the welcome to Wanganui of their Excellencies Lord and Lady Jellicoe. CHILDREN’S DEMONSTRATION. Regarding the children’s function the Mayor stated that he had received the offer of the services of Cadets from the Collegiate, Queen’s Park, and Avenue Schools. Discussion ensued as to tho best form the children’s function could take. It was decided that an address should be presented to their Excellencies on behalf of the school children of the town. The school from which a representative is to- be selected was chosen by lot, and the honour fell to the Queen’s Park School. A similar procedure was adopted to select a school to provide a pupil to present a bouquet to her, Excellency, and the lot this time fell, to Mrs Ramsay’s school. Representatives'of all schools, a boy and a girl from each, will be selected to accompany the pupils making- tho presentations, the selection to be made before Friday., Cadets from the Collegiate : School { will line tho route from the entrance to the dias at Cook’s Gardens.

The pupils from the Central Infants’ and Keith Street Infants’ will not be present on Cook’s ’Gardens, but their Excellencies will drive past these schools, and the pupils will line the roadside in front of the buildings. The children of all schools will be on the ground at 10.30, and will be placed in position by the committee appointed for that purpose The Tramway Engineer will m,ake arrangements for children from Castlecliff, Aramoho, Wanganui East, and the at Gonville to come in by tram-car, but he cannot undertake to convey them on the return journey in a body.
