MINERS’ DEMANDS

SERIOUS TROUBLE THREATENED.

(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON/, Nov. 22

The original announcement that the Miners’ Federation was making a demand for a 25 per cent: increase in the rates of pay to date from ,-lst March was due to a typing error. It is proposed that the increase should date from Ist November. Serious trouble is threatened, at the Blackball mine over the alleged victimisation of men who have taken or are taking a prominent part in the Federation and Union affairs. The Union is concerned over the refusal of'the company , to reinstate three men, ;and the Federation will support the Union. “We will fight the company to the death, if necessary,” stated Mr Arbuckle today.
