CIRCUIT OF ANNUAL GATHERINGS.

Excellent organisation exists in the Caledonian Societies of this part of the island, and at a conference recently a circuit of Caledonian sports gatherings was drawn up to obviate dates clashing. The circuit decided -upon was as follows:—Waikato, 3rd January; Raetihi, 22nd January; Taihape, 27th January; Turakina, 29th January; Hunterville, 3rd February; Wanganui, 6th February; Napier, Takapau. • Valuable prizes will be offered at each of these sports gatherings, and the conference decided that each programme would contain one New Zealand championship event. ’ The Caledonian sports at the various local centres proved highly successful, last year, but it is considered that with the excellent organisation which exists in the Societies at Taihape, Eaetihi, Huntervdlle, Turakina, and Wanganui the sports will he even more attractive and enjoyable this season.
