GEAND THEATBE. ■To-night will be the last screening of “The First Law,” the Pathe feature in which the famous dancer, Irene Castle, is starred with Antonio Moreno. A good old-fashioned country store forms the setting for Larry Semn’s uproarious comedy, “The Grocery Clerk,” one of the best and funniest of comedies. This comedian is recognised as the only man likely to replace Charlie Chaplin for popularity. The box plan for reserves is open at Collier’s. Tomorrow Howard Hickman and Rhea Mitchell will be starred in “Social Ambition,” and there will also be “The Man of Might,” No. 12. ST. PAUL'S SALE. To-morrow (Thursday), at 2 p.m., a sale will be opened in St. Paul s Hall, where there will be plain and fancy stalls, Scotch cookery, tountry meat, flowers, produce, sweets, jumble stall. goods, Christmas tree and tea rooms. The sale wi'l be continued in the evening, when there will he a good musical programme. The management of the Gonville Dancing Class, having consented to the request of their pupils, they will hold a Short Night Dance on Friday evening next) sth November, in the Gonville Hall, commencing at 8 p.m. sharp. Mr E. Thurlow will again be in charge of the floor. 'dramatic CLUB. On Saturday night last the Y.M.C.A. Dramatic Club gave a very interesting and most enjoyable social evening to their many friends. The gymnasium was beautifully decorated by the members, and the programme submitted by the lads was one of the best. The Pierrot Troupe acquitted, themselves admirably and greatly amused the visitors w\jh their songs, choruses, and antics. The programme was interspersed with solos, instrumental and vocal, and games, concluding with a bon supper and the singing of “Auld Lang Syne. - ’ The Dramatic Club has proved itself a very popular feature during the winter, and has given its services in many directions outside of the Y.M.C.A. building. On Friday evening next they give their closing concert at Bulls in the Y.M.C.A. there. With the coming of Christmas and the camp at Kai Tvvi it is hoped that the lads will return and give several entertainments to the beach residents and holiday-makers.
