AT DUNEDIN 1 . (Per United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Nov.' 2, The criminal sittings of the Supreme Court opened to-day. There are four charges against six persons. William Charles Pitches, Hugh McAllister, and William White, charged with forging a document at Ophir,-purporting to be the will of Ueorge Henry Eeaper, pleaded guilty. The Judge stated that Pitches was really responsible for what was done, and he was fined £2OO. The other two were ordered to come up for sentence if'called upon. Ernest James Taylor, who pleaded guilty in the Lower Court to false pretences, was sentenced to two years on each of two charges, the sentences to be cumulative. He jr was also declared an habitual. \ WELLINGTON SENTENCES. WELLINGTON,- Nov. 2. At the Supreme Court, Herbert John Mercer, a youth, aged 19, was charged With breaking and entering and theft of a motor car, and was ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. He ’ denied stealing the car, which he simply too kfor a joy ride. A young woman named Myra Hall pleaded not guilty to charges of theft and false pretences, and was sentenced to six months.
