DENTISTS’ MECHANICS.
QUESTION OP REGISTRATION. .. (Per United Prosa Association.) DUNEDIN, Nov. 1 As an outcome of a petition to Parliament the following resolution was passed by the Otago University Dental Students' Association: "We wish to point out the grave Injustice that would result if legislation to enable 13 mechanics applying for registration as qualified dentists without undergoing the course prescribed by Act, were passed. Firstly, it would be unfair to ourselves, 60 in number, a proportion of whom were employed as dental mechanics who, in conformity with the Act, are undergoing a four years’ course at Dunedin; secondly, we consider it would not safeguard the public in that men without adequate surgery training would be allowed to practice.
