ADELAIDE, Oct. 29. For the first inter-State match of the season, Victoria is playing South Australia. The weather is fine and the wicket fast. South Australia has lost four wickets for 134 —Pellew 68, Smith 29. SYDNEY, Oct. 29. The English cricketers have been released from quarantine in readiness for to-morrow’s match. N.Z. CRICKET ASSOCIATION. ANNUAL MEETING. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 29. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Association was held to-night, Mr E. H. Williams, president, being in the chair. In moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, which was agreed to, the chairman referred to the necessity of the council taking steps to augment its funds with a view to sending teams abroad. He made feeling reference to the death of Lord Plunket. With regard to the Heathcote Williams’ Shield he said he would like to see Waitaki High School and Wanganui and Christ Colleges enter the competition, and thus assist to stimulate interest in the game. Officers were elected as follows; Patron: His Excellency the Governor Lord Jellicoe; president, Mr E. H. Williams; vice presidents: the presidents of the affiliated associations; committee: F. C. Raphael, J. S. Barrett, S. F. Wilson, T. R. Caygill, D. Reese; secretary, J. F. Peake • treasurer, W. H. Windsor. It was agreed that it be a recommendation to the committee to consider the advisability of holding a North v. Scuth Island match or any other match, including one between the Champion Association and the rest of the Dominion.
