BY “VICTOR.” In view of the cables anent the Olympic games, it may be mentioned that a metre is 39,37 inches, or a little over 3ft Sin. F. Loomis, who created a new record for the 110 metres hurdles at the Olympic games, is the holder of two world’s records for the 120 yards hurdles. His figures for the 2ft 6in sticks are: 13 2-5 sec, established on April 6,1918, at Great Lakes, Illinois. The 3ft 6in figures — lesec—were established by him on the same day. Three Americans also filled the places at the last Olympic. The record for Hie 110 metres (120.2 yards) stands to tbe credit of Forrest C. Smithson (U.S.A.), who established the figures in 1918 at Shepherd's Bush, London,
