OLYMPIC GAMES.

ANTWERP, August 22. Hay (New South Wales), Stedman (Victoria), Kirkland (New South. Wales), and Herald (New South Wales) qualified in the semi-final of the hundred metres swimming event. The Olympic Board, at a meeting, decided that only purely athletic sports, such as running, fwinimiug, wrestling, and boxing, would count in future as Olympic games, though other contests will be included in the programme. This will be fixed at a meeting of the Board at Lausanne in June, 1921, when Rome or Paris is likely to be chosen as the site for the 1924 games, though Los Angeles offers f> charter transports and spend four million bringing tfams lo California.
