AUCKLAND SESSIONS. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 20. At the Supreme Court a decree nisi was granted in the case of James Matthew Buckley Baker, of Turua, v. Hannah Buckley and Christian Peter Hansen, co-respondent, with ,£SOO damages and custody of the children. In the case of Alfred Percy Dare, against whom a charge of manslaughter was withdrawn, and a verdict of guilty of mischief returned. Judge Stringer commented on accused’s wild driving of a misappropriated , motor-car, resulting in the death of Horton at Penrose on February 2nd. His Honor said that as accused’s character was otherwise exceedingly good he would be granted probation for three years on condition that he paid for the damage to the motor and bicycle amounting to .£SO and costs .£ls. His amusements and associates are to be approved of by the. Probation Officer. Alfred John Neath, who married a Scotch girl at Wellington while his lawful wife was alive, was sentenced to twelve months’ imprisonment and two years’ reformative treatment.
