ORDER RESTORED AT BAGDAD By Telegraph— Press Assn.—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. Received August 17, 11 a.m. DELHI, August 16. The authorities' at Bagdad sent parties to the homes of the extremists blamed for the recent trouble on the Euphrates and the flood of propaganda. The police failed to effect any arrests, owing to the action of the crowds, who also fired on the reserves who were lending the police assistance. Eventually nine men were arrested. The rictesf lost six killed and twelve wounded. Later, a company of Bhopal infantry arrived, .and swept the town from end to end. There were no further disturbances, and the town is nowquiet. The military are taking precautions against any further outbreaks. SITUATION IMPROVED. Reuter.—August 17, 11 a.m. DELHI, August 16. Bagdad advices state that the situation on the 15th, between Hillah and Bagdad, had improved. Our forces occupied Musevio on the 14th, and the Hindiyah barrage on the 15th, thus restoring the situation in this area. There is no news from Mosul, owing to a telegraphic breakdown.
