ATHLETICS.

NEW ZEALAND OLYMPIC TEAM. Latest advices, concerning; the New Zealand Olympic team, which recently arrived in England en route to the Olympic games at Antwerp, are contained in a cablegram received from H. E. Wilson, hurdler and manager, by Mr A. Marryatt, president of the New Zealand Olympic Council. The place from which the cable was sent indicates that the team was quartered in Wolverton, Bucks, a few days prior to proceeding to Antwerp. The members were reported to be all well; and they cx2>ected to leave on the return trip early in October. The athletic sports in connection with the games commence on Saturday next with the opening ceremonies at the great Stadium. The various events will be held during next week, the New Zealand representatives in which will be H, E Wilson (hurdler) and G. Davidson (sprinter). The rowing championship will bo decided between the 27th and 29th August, the New Zealand colours being carried by D. C. Hadfield, while the swimming events in which the New Zealand lady champion. Miss Violet Walrond, will engage are set down to take place between the 22nd and 29th, August. It is understood that the riflemen who competed at Bisley did not participate in the Olympic competitions, A London cable to the Australian papers states that W. Hunt, of New Soutli Wales, won the 100 yards at Paddington in 10 3-5.
