PERSONAL

A very interesting little ceremony took place during the lunch adjournment at Eastown workshops yesterday. After the men had gathered from the various parts of the. works, Mr J. Scott took the chair and reminded them that they had gathered there to make Mr W. Seeling a presentation on the occasion of his marriage. After speaking in very flattering terms about Mr Seeling, as a friend and workmate, he called on Mr Merrett, shop foreman, to make the presentation. Mr Merrett said it afforded him much pleasure to be privileged to do so, and on behalf of his shopmates presented Mr Seeling with a handsome dinner service. Mr Seeling, who was received with rounds of applause, feelingly responded, and the meeting broke up with the singing of “He’s a Jolly Good Fellow,” and giving three hearty cheers for the newly-wedded pair.
