COMMERCIAL.
POULTRY AND PRODUCE. At Messrs Williams and Harper’s weekly poultry and produce sale a large entry of poultry was submitted. Hens realised 8s 3d to” 10s 9d per pair, and roosters 6s 9d to 10s 6d. Single roosters sold at 6s 6d to 8s 9d. Ducks brought 9s 3d to 9s 9d, and single drakes 7s 6d. Small pigs realised 20s, and porkers 41s. In produce sales small trusses of hay sold at 5s 6d each, equal to about .£2O per ton. Other prices were: Chad 10s 6d to 11s 6d per sack; cabbages, 6s 6d per dozen; pumpkins, Is to Is 6d each; pie melons, Is 6d to 2s 6d each; carrots, 5s per cwt. and 2s 6d per small bag; parsnips, 2s 6d per small bag; swedes, 6s per sack; potatoes (Southern), 14s per sack; apples, 7s 6d to 9s per case, and 4a 4d to 4s 6d per half-case.
