N.S.W. STATE ORCHESTRA.
THE TOUR EXTENDED. DUNEDIN, February 9. So insistent have been the demands for a return visit of the N.S.W. State Orchestra to Wellington and Auckland that Mr Verbrugghen has Snow found it possible to grant the public’s desire. In a statement to the press at Dunedin on Sunday, M/ H. Gladstone Hill, manager of the New Zealand tour, stated that arrangements had been completed to give an extra concert in Dunedin on Wednesday night and then proceed to Wellington on Thursday morning. On Friday, the 13th, the orchestra will give a return concert in Wellington and leave by special train at midnight the same night for Rotorua, where the orchestra will remain until the following Tuesday. On Monday, the 16th, Mr Verbrugghen and His orchestra will give a concert in Rotorua, and the Maoris are arranging to give a big display of liakas, poi dances, singing, etc. On the 17th and 18th insts. Auckland will have two concerts, the orchestra. leaving by the Maheno for Sydney on the 19th. These concerts are entirely separate from what has been given under the agreement with the guarantors throughout the Dominion, the terminating concert bejmg Tuesday night, February 10th. It was found impossible to consult the guarantors with reference to including the extra week in the itinerary already agreed upon, so it was arranged between Mr Henri Verbrugghen (director) and Mr F. W. Pentecost (manager of Hie N.S.W. State Orchestral and Mr H. Gladstone Hill (manager of the New Zealand tour) to terminate the tour as far as the guarantors are concerned on the completion of the original itinerary .
