The Plunket Slid Id miftch, 'Wellington v. Auckland, was commenced today in good weather, Wellington hatting first on an essentially batsman’s pitch. Brice, captain of the visitors, became ill during the morning and could not bat. Wellington made 118 for nine wickets —-Dink 31, Burton (not out) 25. Smith took eight wickets for •55, and Player one for 25. Auckland made 235—Smith 86, Dacre 31. Lambert took four wickets, for 79, Aldersiey four for 17.
