BOWING.

By “YICTOE..’’

Tim Wellington Star Club's crews for the Christchurch and Wanganui Begattas will compete in the various races at the interchib regatta, at Wellington, ami this will afford an opportunity to judge them under racing conditions. The Petone senior fours’ crew is likely to row in the championship fours at Wanganui on February 21st. The Aramoho Club intends making every effort to send crews to the Auckland regatta at Easter time. The Aramoho crews for the IS T .Z, championship regatta, to be held on the Wanganui liiver on the 21st of February, are in full training, and they are beginning to show good form. O’Neill, who is to represent the 4rain oho Club in the Maiden Sculls at J -hc championship regatta next month, is declared to be one of the best scullers the club has had of late years. He is only 18 years of age, so should improve a good deal in the next year or two. Percy Paul and O. Godfrey are. to represent the club in the Junior Sculls, and they should do well judging by the form they showed a few years ago. Mayes and Erider, who are to represent the club in the Doubles, have not been shaping too well, hut they may do better with more training. One of the most promising of the Aramoho crews is unquestionably the youths, who are rowing well under E. Armstrong’s watchful eye. They are likely to worthily represent the club. The Heavy Maidens and Juniors are now rowing a little better-, under them coach, E. Brider.

Eoy Ahern strokes the Light Juniors, while in the Light Maidens, Luff strokes No. 1 crew and Bartlett and Brown 2 and 3 crews.

In the Junior Pairs, Jack O’Shannessey and Don Gordon will represent the Club.

It is said to be unlikely that Aramoho will bo represented in tho Champ-on Fours, but it is to be hoped that a crew will be got together. There are enough good senior oarsmen in the dub from whom to select a strong crew. There was some interesting racing amongst Aramoho four-oar crews for a handsome set of gold medals last week, several good finishes being fought out, and the form shown was encouraging in view of the coming big regatta. The results were; Luff beat Armstrong, Godfrey beat Small, Breed beat Ahern. The semis were: Luff beat Bartlett, Breed beat Godfrey. Tire final proved to be another great race between Luff and Breed, Luff winning by about three feet. The winning crew were; Luff, Neilson, Owen, Owen.
