AN OPPOSITION ASSOCIATION,

Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. Received January 28, 9.20 a.m. LONDON, January 27. An Amalgamated Trades Association is being formed to combat the efforts of the alliance entered into between the leaders of the Trade Unions movement, the Labour Party, and eo-opera-tive societies which aims at the elimination of private trading enterprise, and its replacement by a Statecontrolled co-operative system of distribution. The promoters of the association include a number of influential traders. The council consists of representatives of important organisations, including home and foreign produce, exchange, and the provision section of the Loudon Chamber of Commerce, the canned goods section of the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, and and the "Bristol and Liverpool Provision Trade Associations.
