AMUSEMENTS & MEETINGS.
THE GRAND. “SIS HOPKINS” TO-NIGHT. To-night will be the last screening of the big Goldwyn success, “Sis Hop.kins,” which is drawing crowded houses to the Grand Theatre. Mabel Normand’s characterisation of Rose Melville’s little country wisehead has come as a great surprise to all who have followed up her work. The supporting films are well selected and patrons should not miss the opportunity of attending the Grand to-night. To-morrow the Select feature, “The World To Live In,” featuring Alice Brady, will be the star attraction, also “The Fighting Trail,” No, 7. LECTURE BY REV. B. HUTSON. The Rev. B. Hutson, who, as advertised elsewhere, is to deliver a lecture in St. Paul’s Hall to-morrow evening, upin “The Significance of the Pre-millenial Advent Movement,” is the author of a little booklet recently published under the title of “The Pre-millenial Advent of the Lord Jesus.” Mr Hutson’s booklet was written in reply to one by the Rev. I. Jolly, which has recently been recommended by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in New Zealand. The main contention of Mr Hutson’s booklet is that “Pre-millenialism” is the only view of the Second Advent of Christ compatible with a belief in the Divine inspiration and authority of the Bible. He has made a careful study of the subject for some years, and his lecture should prove interesting to many. MOCK COURT. The mock court to be held at the Technical College Assembly Hqll on -triday night should prove a very novel and amusing entertainment for the general public. The proceedings of the court are punctuated with many local “hits,” and much merriment and witty dialogue is interspersed in the hearing of the breach of promise case. The performance will open with a musical programme, and bearing in mi rid that all proceeds are in aid of a new memorial hall for. the Technical College, the hall should be filled to overflowing.
