THE INDEMNITY.
WHEN "WILL GERMANY PAY? (Reuter.) LONDON., October 23. In the Commons, at question time, Mr Harmsworth stated that steps to recover the indemnity from Germany could hot be taken until the Treaty f as ratified, but much preliminary work had teen done by the committee representing the principal Governments concerned. In particular, deliveries under annexes 4 and 5 of the Treaty had commenced. Mr Bridgman stated that the Government had been informed that Germany pad no great quantity of goods to extort at present.
