THE GRAND, Belle Bennett plays the central part in, the Triangle drama, “Ashes of JJope,” screening at the Grand to-night. It is a Western story of unusual type in so far as the sumptuous dresses worn by the star arc a feature. She plays the role of a dancing hall queen, and her dresses have been specially designed to accentuate this aspect. Opposite to her Jack Livingstone takes the part of a silent man surrounded by mystery, and as a result’of a bet she sets outs to win him, although all the other women of the establishment have failed. In her attempt, however, she ends up by being caught in her own net and falling in love with him. Election results will be screened as they come to hand. EVERYBODY’S. . Commencing for three nights, this evening the management will screen another hig William Pox production, featuring the popular American actress, Virginia Pearson, in a screen play based on the Seventh Commandment, “Thou shalt not Steal.” Tills picture is a mystery picture, and a detective story, and includes a bank robbery, and Virginia Pearson makes the most of this vivid tale.
