PERSONAL

Tho late Dr. Mary Dowling, who died at Hawcra yesterday, had only been practising there for a short time. She was the daughter otf the late R. C. and Mrs Dowling, of New Plymouth, and grand-daughter of the late R. C. Dowling, master of the Fielding school, and Mrs Dowling, now of New Plymouth, also a niece of Mr T. F. Dowling, of Aramoho. Many friends will be sorry to hear of her death. The late Dr. 'Mary wad a clever doctor, and had a great future before her. Mr Bert Dowling, of Hawera, is her only brother, and Mrs (Rev.) Crawshore, of Waimate, only sister. A vote of condolence with Matron McKenny, of the Public Hospital, who lias recently lost her mother, has been passed by the Hospital Board.
