WAR WORK.

RED CROSS DEPOT. At the dog parade to be held on June 3rd, the committee of the St. John Ambulance Brigade Red Cross Depot has decided to run several money-making schemes for the depot funds. The committee is already working hard, and in connection with surprise bag venture great quantities of pieces of chintz prints, etc., are needed, and also gifts of presents to stock the bags. Mothers who have toys which their children have grown too old to appreciate would help to givf pleasure to other children by sending them along to the depot for the bags. The first sewing bee is to be held in the depot, opposite Thain and Co.'s, on Tuesday night next, so that any pkees of material for making the bags can be left with Mrs Gifford-Moore before then; also any donations of odd presents for the stocking of the bags. Anyone desiring to help with the sewing is invited to the bees.
