FARMERS' CO-OPERATIYE ASSOCIATION.
(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, April 19. A conference representing 1 the various Farmers' (Jo-operative Associations in New Zealand was held in Wellington this week to finally fix details for the formation of a Farmers' Co-operative wholesale Federation of New Zealand, Ltd. It was decided to register the company immediately. The nominal capital has been fixed at present at ,£IOO,OOO, while the aggregate nominal capital subscribed by associations is nearly three millions sterling. With regard to the capital, it is not the idea of the controlling boards of the general Associations that the Federation itself should embark upon ventures involving large capital responsibilities, but rather thafc it should become the medium of inauguration. The Federation is confined to genuine Farmers' Co-operative Associations and Companies in which the majority of their members are farmers actually engaged directly or in any subsidiary branch of farming or in any industry allied thereto. It has been "decided to conrfine the initial work to such activities as will most effectively assist t*ie shareholders, associations and companies in their major operations, both in regard to imports and exports. The Federation "will also collect commercial data of-all kinds concerning British and other markets, and secure and manage the Dominion, British, and foreign agencies of lines of interest to various associations.
