The Russian successes in the Carpathians on Saturday were contacted despite extraordinary obstacles. Tfie artillery cut ten rows of entanglements across fallen trees, and the infantry, with Irresistible dash, rashed the enemy’s trench in a minute on a front of 3000 yards. The enemy brought up all reserves, but the Russian artillery broke all the counter-attacks. The Russians advanced more than 2000 yards and captured 32 officers and 1126 men. The Ottoman forces drove back strong reconnoitring parties in the gelghbourhoed of the Danube.
