EGMONT R.C. MEETING. The summer meeting of the Egmont Racing Club will open to-morrow, when some interesting sport is promised those who visit Hawera. The acceptances received are very satisfactory, and the fields in most - of the events should be large. Those intending to make the trip are reminded that ,a train leaves wianganui. at 6.45 a.m., while the usual 9-10 train will 1 also run There are seven left in the Egmont, Cup, Egypt heading, the list with 8.4 opposite his name. He will, probably be a warm favourite, though Master Lupin, 7.10, will also be well backed. There is every prospect of a good field in the Flying, for which Tete-a-Tete has many friends, despite ■ the fact that she has to carry 9.5. Others likely ‘to be well supported are Rewi Poto 8.13 (if he starts), Interlude 8.4, and Hushmau 7.7. . The other events are sure to be well contested, and the day’s racing should be most enjoyable. / - ■■■■■'■
