FIRE AT PONGAROA.

BOAEDING-HOUSE DESTROYED. (Per Press Asscciation 1 PAHIATUA, January 30. Brenton’s boarding house at Pongaroa, consisting of 25 rooms, was destroyed by fire shortly after midnight. It is believed that the fire originated in the kitchen. A large number of boarders were in the house at the time. The proprietress was absent at Pahiatua. The insurances, including the billiard room, winch was saved, total £ 575. The loss is a heavy one. 1
