SEDITIOUS SPEECH.
(Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, January 24. E. R. Williams, charged on remand with uttering a seditious speech, he he would oppose conscription as long as he had a tongue in his head. He was an internationalist, opposed to ivar, and would always fight against it. Mr Bailey, SJVL, said the defence was clever, but the speech came under the regulations, and he would sentence Williams to twelve months.
