THE KING’S APPRECIATION. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November 29. Coianel Rhodes, in a communication to the Hon. Jas. Allen from Alexandria, states that, at Anzac, Lord Kitehene. gave him the following message from the King for transmission to New Zea land:—"His Majesty the King desire; me to express his appreciation of tin bravery displayed bv the New Zealam troops at Gallipoli, and to say that h< was proud of their achievements, tha’ they had made a name for themselves in history, and their deeds would never ht forgotten.” Colonel Rhodes states that he visited the New Zealand Infantry in the trenches, and the Mounteds at Bau chope’s Hill. They arc well and ii good spirits, and greatly improved b\ their rest at Lemnos. A message from Commoner Hal l Thompson, of the Philomel, states that Lieutenant Fitzadam Millar has been awarded the Distinguished Service Cross tor service ashore.
