lIIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. “Two Women” is the title of the star attraction which will be screened at His Majesty’s Theatre this evening for the last time. Other pictures include; “A Visit to a British Shell Factory,” a particularly interesting study at the present time; “Mabel’s Wilful Way,” and “The Man he Might Have Been.” “THE LION’S CUBS.” A strong patriotic drama, which deals with the German spy system in London, and wilich places before the public the good work done by the Boy Scouts, will be screened at His Majesty’s Theatre tomorrow (Thursday) evening. The drama is produced by the London I*ilm Company, the producers of “The Middleman,” “England’s Menace,” etc. It was resolved at all costs by the German spies to obtain plans of the Allies’ campaign, hut thanks to Scotland Yard detectives. , assisted by a number; of Boy Scouts, the danger was grappled with, and just when the spies- were escaping in an aeroplane, the bovs swarmed round the Germans and secured their arrest. Supporting the star item is a patriotic topical, depicting the training and' making of a Bluejacket, tr, fit him for his duties in the Australian Navy. The Gaumont Graphic will show the latest war news, and a very funny Vitagraph comedy is “Professional Scapegoat." The pictorial representation of the wellknown novel, “Tho Spoilers,” by Rex Beach, is to be screened at His Majesty’s Theatre, commencing on Monday after-, noon next. KING’S THEATRE. To-night will witness the final screening of that fine emotional and educational .success, “The Life Line,” which is equal to tho best yet exhibited at the lung’s Theatre. " “•Haunting Memories” is another well selected play, .showing how a son, by his reputation as a violin virtuoso traces his father who .has deserted his family. . Most interesting news is shown in the Topical Gazette, whilst Ford Sterling creates a riot of fun in the Keystone comedv. “Our Dare Devil Chief.” Other good comedies are: “The Actors’ Board: inghonse” and “Tangle of Pokes and Jabs.” To-morrow evening, the featured film is a powerfully pathetic Lnbin drama, entitled “The Bond of Womanhood.” This is a drama shoeing there is still much good in the world, that happiness may bo hidden but ennnpt be lost, and that there is a possible smile behind the hit , terest tears. Apart from the usual matinee on Saturday, the management has decided to give a special matinee on Monday next, 25th inst. (Labour Day). “THE MESSIAH” TO-MORROW NIGHT. Our readers may bo reminded that if they wish to secure seats for the performance of Handel’s “Messiah” in the Opera House to-morrow (Thursday) evening, they should lose no time in inspecting the box plan at H. I. Jones and Son’s, otherwise they may be disappointed. The proceeds iare in aid of the patriotic funds, therefore large patronage is assured. The principals, chorus, and orchestra have practised strenuously for the performance, and a fine rendering of the celebrated work is in store. 'Air T. C. Webb will conduct, and the soloists will be Madame Briggs. .Mrs Ivo Sytaes, Mr S. Butler, and Mr L, Craig. The accommodation for the chorus has been, built free of charge by Mr N. Meuli, and as, in addition, ail expenses are reduced to an absolute minimum, a substantial profit should result, while tho public will have an opportunity of a musical treat that rarely occurs.
