A PROMISE BY THE PREMIER. (Per United Press Assoeia-j-i.i.') AUCKLAND, February 16, After hearing a large and influential deputation at Taurangato-day on the claims of the East Coast railway the Prime Minister said he had in the last few days seen for himself the isolation under which the Bay of Plenty is suffering, hut the patience and hope of the people would be rewarded in the near future. The district is worthy of railways and should have one. Government is quite satisfied that the East Coast railway must be speedily constructed and that it would pay, and Government is filing to construct it at the earliest possible moment.
