Jesse Collings (Union ist member for Bordesley, Birmingham) has published a book on “Colonisati in in Rural Britain,” in which ho asserts that nest to the influence of Socialism, immigration is the chief factor in the changing of the face of rural Englanl. He protests against immigration agents’ commercialism, luring the soundest and fittest and leaving the unfit. There is, he assorts, plenty of land available in England to create rural colonies on tl;o occupying ownership basis. An additional remedy lies in improving labourers’ conditions.
