Mr Harold Baker, in reply to Mr Hunt, said an alteration had been made in the specification for the supply of meat to the Array, fixing fbo minimum weight of Australian forequarters at HOlbs. because it was found that the restrictions ■in regard to the removal of flanks and brisket involved a larger reduction in weight than was expected; ’further, that of 7441bs of meat supplied by BortJuwick’s On October 4th, :W6lbs on November 30th were rejected as unfit for food on arrival. This was due to delayed transit. Mr Hunt asked whether Borthwick’s were incited to tender. Mr Baker replied that tender forms were issued to a large number of firms, including Borthwick’s.
