BERLIN, June 22. Schmidt, a candidate for a teacher’s position, who is apparently insane, entered the grounds of the Catholic school at Bremen and shot three girls dead and wounded six others. When arrested lie had six revolvers in his possession. SCHOOLMASTER MORTALLY WOUNDED. ‘ INFURIATED PARENTS CAPTURE SCHMIDT. BEAT HIM INSENSIBLE. Received June 23, 8.5 a.in. BERLIN, June 22. Schmidt first entered a room in which wore sixty-five young girls, and shot wildly, killing three and wounding ton. The schoolmaster jumped on the assassin’s .back, but was mortally wounded. Schmidt ran to the playground and there wounded five boys. An infuriated crowd of parents and others captured and beat Schmidt insensible before the police rescued him. TWENTY-ONE PERSONS HIT. CLOTHING LINED WITH CARTRIDGES. ■ Received June 23, 9.35 a.m. BERLIN, June 22. Schmidt, who ran amok in a schoolroom. fired 35 shots, hitting 21 persons. He had a thousand cartridges about his clothing, his hat and socks being lined with them. He was suffering from a persecution mania, which was aroused directly he heard the word, “Jesuit.”
