ORINGI TRAINING GROUNDS
A RUMOUR. PURCHASE BY GOVERNMENT. The statement ia in circulation in Dannevlrke (says the News) that the laud at Oringi where the Territorial encampments are being now held has been acquired, by .the Government, with the object of converting the place into a permanent training ground. Enquiries made from official quarters, however, d,o pot confirm it. although it is satitfactory to state that it Is not officially denied. Ope who is in a position of authority, when questioned to-day, said he had heard the statement, but he could not definitely say that the purchase, had it been made, had not been announced to military officials, who could reasonably , have been expected to know something of the matter.
