A GIRL MURDERED.

The hod yof a girl named Esther Porter, 14 years of age, residing at llankstown, was found near Punchbowl railway station with her head battered in and other terrible injuries. There are indications that siie was murdered. Porter was last seen in the vicinity of the Punchbowl station, on Monday morning, when she returned from visiting her mother in the hospital. The body was covered by bushes, and it is believed tnat she was outraged before she was murdered. Tramps are suspected. Received March 0, 0.4 a.m. SYDNEY. March fi. . ; No clues, hayp so far been found regarding the Porter tragedy. Tho road home -was through scrub, and she,was apparently decoyed into the bush. There is evidence of a desperate struggle. Some money and a basket she was carrying arc missing. The unfortunate girl was the daughter of a well-known resident, and was a general favourite in the district. She was of exceptionally fine physique.
