EXTENT OF THE DAMAGE. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 2:t. An examination of the llaupiri show i that on the port side of (he vessel's bows there was a dent ol about 15 feet n length and 15 inehes dee)), which caused a considerable leak. On tlit* starboard side two plates have been forced apart. The rivets were stripped. Altogether about a dozen plates ami a dozen frames have been damaged half wav between the water line and keel.
