SUDDEN DEATH OF A WOMAN. (Per Unite*! Pres* Association.) WELLINGTON. .May 18. Elizabeth Henderson, a married woman, died suddenly at Kaiapoi yesterday, and at the inquest there to-day sensational evidence was given. Dr Crawford said the woman was pregnant. Death had been caused by abnormal conditions of the uterus, which conditions might have been caused by the use of an instrument. Deceased's nine-year-old son said .Mrs liridC'et Chalk was with his mother when she died, and the inquest was-adjourned till May 21th. Airs Chalk was formally charged with having caused (he death of .Mrs Henderson by an unlawful act. She was remanded till May 21th.
